This is a genuine Metlox Little Red Riding Hood that was made in the 1960's in California - Poppytrail Pottery by Metlox. The trade name is marked on bottom of the jar - " Made in Poppytrail Calif. USA. This jar stands 12 3/4" tall. Little Red Riding Hood is one of the more rare jars from Metlox and one of the more sought after cookie jars. Well known collector and founder of the American Cookie Jar Association Barbara Crews says the Little Red Riding Hood Cookie Jar is one of the hardest to find cookie jars and if you have a chance to get one, don’t hesitate.
